T gives his two cents...

...and he does not approve of knitting felted bowls. I told him it was for the upcoming HRR craft fair to help all the bunnies (April 24th...details TBA!), but he couldn't be swayed. At first I thought he was excited because he came running over, but then he just tried to snatch it out of my hand and fling it across the room. It was not the reaction I was expecting. Indifference would have been more the norm.

Worldwide Rabbit Love + Appreciation Day!

24 Carrot Lane Proclaims First Annual Worldwide Rabbit Love +
Appreciation Day on Friday, August 24th, 2007 - finally a special day for rabbits!

It is all about encouraging rabbit parents everywhere to do their small part to spread the word about responsible rabbit guardianship, to let others know how intelligent and affectionate rabbits can be, and to remind everyone that they CAN make a difference for the better, which will ultimately help to reduce the number of rabbits surrendered to shelters. Tania of 24 carrot lane has several suggestions on how you can do you a bit of good where you are, in honor of rabbits everywhere. Your suggestions are welcome, too.

Great success!!

Blue skies, sweet pies, lots of people, and much fun - Heartland's yard sale turned out to be a great success. Thanks to all the hard work of everybody involved and all the great stuff our wonderful friends and supporters donated, we will be able to replace our old, decrepit water bottles with brandnew ones for all the Heartland bunnies. Yeahy!

No sleep for Megan and Jeannie before the yard sale, but even in the oppressing heat they kept going and going... while Brad found a comfortable chair after hours of loading and unloading heavy tables, chairs, TVs, microwaves, and so much more.

We want to thank all of you who donated time, money, and stuff to sell for your kindness and support. Without you guys none of this would have been possible! Our very special thanks goes out to Jolene and her kind friends who donated the most wonderful pastries which delighted not only our customers (people came back for more and somebody asked which bakery we were using...) but also our volunteers (the blueberry pie was divine!!).

Another special thanks goes out to our little Miss Sarah who was raising money for the Heartland bunnies playing wonderful songs on the viola.

All in all, a great success!

(...and time for me to finish one of those heavenly pies...)

Christmas Photo Session

The Dotys' good friends, the Calverts, offered their Christmas showroom to Heartland for shooting Christmas card pictures. The bunnies were on their best behavior and Jeanette got perfect pictures. (My camera's red eye reduction feature isn't working. The other pictures taken with Jeanette's camera are lovely.)It was a lot of work but well worth it. The Christmas cards are gorgeous! Much thanks to the Calverts for their kindness in letting us take over their showroom one afternoon. If you would like to see how beautiful a job Jeanette and the bunnies did please come out to visit us at the Christmas crafts festival Nov. 24 & 25 where our cards will be for sale. Details are on our website. Or just order from us online.
