Rearranging

So, mama got up this morning and messed up all the covers, so I had to fix them. I like to sleep between those pillows you see there, but the blankets have to be just right. If you listen close, you can hear my brother, Dude, running through the blinds. It's his morning exercise routine. I prefer to sleep in.

(Sorry the video's so dark. You can't see how handsome I am in the morning. Mama is not very skilled with that recording thingy.)

T Gets a Bath

My poor little T has a disapproving tummy and frequently has "poopy butt". In the few years that I've belonged to him, I've never had to give him a "bath", but I had to step in a couple weeks ago and give him his first. Because his back leg sticks out to the side, I put a towel in the sink to give him a little traction. He was not happy at first, but eventually settled in. He kept trying to groom the rest of him and just ended up splashing the both of us over and over again with his little foot flicks. :)

[Note: For all you new bunny parents, you don't need to bathe bunnies, usually, and you should never submerge them in water, which would be very stressful and potentially life threatening. Like cats, they groom themselves, continuously. They can be quite vain. ;) You can find more information on grooming at www.rabbit.org.]

T gives his two cents...

...and he does not approve of knitting felted bowls. I told him it was for the upcoming HRR craft fair to help all the bunnies (April 24th...details TBA!), but he couldn't be swayed. At first I thought he was excited because he came running over, but then he just tried to snatch it out of my hand and fling it across the room. It was not the reaction I was expecting. Indifference would have been more the norm.

New Veggie

There was some very pretty swiss chard at the grocery store the other day, so I picked some up to see if the boys would like it, since they had never tried it before. As I was washing it, I peeked around the corner and there was T waiting in the hallway. He was so cute just sitting there, that I let him have the first taste.

Stupid Holidays

So, mama told us we'd have to take a trip for the holidays, but she didn't say anything about it being an extra long trip! I hate riding in the car with all the loud noises. I was really mad.

T was mad, too.

We had to stay in that stupid pen for 2 whole weeks, no matter how much we asked to get out!

I was so mad that I didn't talk to mama for days. I would run and hide in my house when ever she came in the room.

And then she had the nerve to tell me to stop stomping around so much because they could hear me downstairs! A bunny never relinquishes his duty to alert everyone of all the scary noises in case there might be danger lurking around the corner. At least she still remembered to give us our raisins before we went to sleep. (T always hogs the front spot during raisin time.)

Santa did find us, though, and left us a present. (But, we were still mad...)

Eventually, I tried to sneak out and take a peek at what he brought us, but mama caught me! It's really hard to be a super sneaky ninja bun when you're stuck in a stupid playpen...

We finally got to go home, but I didn't talk to mama for days afterward, just so she knew how mad I was. I am glad to be home, though. I didn't like that house with all the scary noises and nothing to do. Stupid holidays.

Gettin' my Chews on...

My mama gives the best ear rubs ever! All I have to do is sidle up and sit down next to my mama and she'll rub my ears. I like to do this several times a day. Sometimes if I stare at her long enough, she'll rub my ears then, too. -T

Holiday Card Bloopers 2007

As always, T & Dude look forward to holiday photo time (can you hear the sarcasm?) After about 150 shots, we managed to get a few good ones to choose from, at the expense of everyone's patience. At first they were all over the place, and then they resumed their usual routine of T turning his back to the camera to groom himself and Dude sitting like a lump and glaring at the annoying flashy thing. Here are some Holiday Photo Shoot bloopers for you to enjoy...

And the final stage of the Holiday Photo Card shoot...total annoyance and humiliation.

T and the Ugly Green Shawl

I crocheted this hideously ugly green shawl a couple weeks ago, which has now been donated to my nieces' dress up wardrobe. T didn't seem to mind the ugliness. When I put it on the floor, he pounced right on it and started grooming. He loves it, so sweet.

Munchin'

I never get tired of watching by boys munchin' out...too cute! They're like little woodchippers...

Dude tried his first strawberry and was very undecided about the whole thing. (T wanted nothing to do with it.) However, when I went back into the bedroom about 30 minutes later, the strawberry had mysteriously disappeared.

Banana Ponderings

Mama says I eat too slow, but I just have a lot of thoughts to think. I like to chew and ponder about my food. I have a lot of thoughts about food. Like bananas, for example...

A Banana Haiku

Smells sweet, just a taste...
No, I don't like bananas.
Yuck, goo on my face!

Mmmm...Breakfast

The boys are just so cute when they eat their breakfast all smooshy-faced. They finished off a plate of veggies and were still hip-hopping around so I gave them a little oatmeal for desert.

They're so bright and shiny that my camera doesn't quite know how to adjust, so it's hard to get a good inside picture. After I took a few they were getting a little annoyed at the flashy thing and came over to investigate and make it stop. Now I have bunny nose prints on my lens.

All Packed and Nowhere to Go

So, a scary thing happened on Friday...a few minutes after I walked in the door of my apartment after getting home from work, tornado sirens began sounding in Norman. That's right, in Norman! Now, at first I didn't hear them, which of course, is great and especially helpful if a tornado was heading my way. Jeannie called my cell phone and left a message telling me that the sirens were supposed to be going off. I opened the sliding glass door to my balcony and strained to hear over the rain and traffic, and guess what, the sirens were actually sounding faintly in the distance.

So, now I'm starting to feel a little panic. I turned the T.V. on to listen to the report while I had to convince my boys to listen to me for the first time in their lives. T came right out when I bribed him with raisins. So, I sccoped him up and put him on the bed. Dude was not about to come out from under the bed. So I poked and prodded him until he was mad enough to thump and run out from under the bed and hide under the bedside table, where I was able to scoop him up, too. This scrambling for bunnies took place in probably under a minute. I put two t-shirts in the bottom of two luggage bags and put T in bag and Dude in the other. Here they are in their tornado traveling gear:

Once, they were in the bags, they were very well behaved. I opted for the luggage over their carriers, figuring that if I had to go anywhere quick, no one had to know I had bunnies in those bags. Of course, I have no idea where we would go. I live in a third floor apartment and there are no underground areas anywhere. We were all packed up with nowhere to go.

I made them sit in those bags for about half an hour, when the tornado warning expired. T didn't hold it against me, but Dude was a little miffed for the rest of the night. I think we'll have to practice our tornado drills from now on. Maybe one day I can say "Tornado!" and my boys will hop right into the bags.:) I wouldn't place any bets on that one, though.

"Take Your Bunny to Work" Day!

Ok, so there isn't really a "Take Your Bunny to Work" day, but I did it anyway, because, really, there should be one. As you can see in the evidence below, T had a blast exploring the chairs and everybody's work areas, although Dude was a little mad at me for interrupting his naptime.

It makes him sad...

...to think of all of his friends at Heartland Rabbit Rescue who are still looking for a family to belong to and love. "T" thinks his friends are all super nice and deserve to have a home and somebody to love like he and his adopted brother Dude. Do you have room in your home? Please?
